Description
These Tanzanian beans are grown on the Burka Estate – one of the oldest specialty coffee producers in the country with its history extending back to the 1800s. Located at the base of Mt. Meru in northern Tanzania, the mountain provides the area with plenty of rainfall and an ideal climate for growing high quality coffee. Burka Estate gets its name from the two large natural springs that supply water to the farm and neighboring communities. Burka Estate staff and their families are provided with housing, medical services, and schooling for their children.
This coffee is shade-grown using an eco-friendly and responsible approach to the environment and their neighboring communities. It is harvested at roughly 1,600 masl between August & November.
