This Ethiopian coffee is grown at the Gera estate, located in the Djimma region of western Ethiopia. Gera estate is full of nitrogen-rich plants and rests at 2000 meters above sea level. These factors along with the natural fertilizers used in crop production combine to form an optimal environment for specialty coffee farming. No chemical fertilizers or insecticides are used; production at Gera focuses on sustainability and good working conditions for its employees. The Gera Estate provides housing, childcare and education, clean drinking water, electricity, healthcare, and recreational facilities for all of its employees free of charge.
After these beans are harvested during the winter, they are naturally-processed and then sun-dried on raised beds.
