This coffee is produced in eastern Java in the villages of Kayumas and Curah Tatal by smallholder farmers. Like most Indonesian coffees, Java Taman Dadar is flavorful and full of depth. The volcanic soil throughout the islands is loaded with nutrients; the soil combined with high elevations creates excellent growing conditions for coffee. The farmers of these beans also produce other crops for income diversity. ‘Taman dadar’ means ‘flower garden’, aptly describing this production method.
Java Taman Dadar is grown at 1600m throughout the summer. Once the beans are fully-washed, they are dried by a solar-powered machine, as well as the sun itself!
