Java Jampit

Description

This lot is sourced from the Jampit Estate, which is located on the island of Java in Indonesia. Coffee was first cultivated in Java in the 17th century in low-lying areas, but was largely destroyed in the 19th century by coffee leaf rust. New coffee production was started in the highlands, where the high altitude and volcanic soil provide ideal growing conditions. Unlike most processing from Indonesia, the coffee from Jampit is fully washed, which gives the coffee a clean, balanced profile.

These beans are grown between May & September at 1600masl. The freshly picked beans are fully washed & then laid on patios to dry in the sun.
