Description
This coffee is produced in the central region of Junin. La Florida is a co-op made up of over two thousand farmers. The coffee revenue is used to provide many benefits to the area such as education, infrastructure, credit, healthcare, road maintenance, bridges, advanced coffee technology and better environmental practices.
The la Florida co-op has won many awards for their coffees, including Peru’s national quality competition. Peru la Florida is harvested between 1200-1400m. After these beans are processed, they are sun-dried. This coffee is deemed ‘bird-friendly’, meaning its harvest presents no threat of deforestation while maintaining a quality habitat for birds and other wildlife.
